Allen S. Schattner, MD Memorial Scholarship Program

The Allegheny County EMS Council is pleased to announce the availability of scholarship funds for those persons who plan to pursue a career as an EMT-Paramedic through local EMT Paramedic Training Programs. This scholarship is named for the late Dr. Allen S. Schattner, a true pioneer in the local training and implementation of EMS Systems.

The scholarship will be awarded to eligible recipients regardless of race, creed, color, religion or sex in accordance with Title IX, Section 504.

Eligibility

- Applicants must reside within Allegheny County, PA.

Applicants must be certified as an EMT for a minimum of one year prior to the start of the EMT-Paramedic Program.

- Applicants must be an active EMT with a licensed EMS agency within Allegheny County.

Applicants must also have submitted an application to a PA Department of Health approved

Applicants must demonstrate a financial need.

Scholarship recipients will receive a $500.00 scholarship to cover tuition and related expenses. The initial $250.00 will be awarded upon successful enrollment in the EMT-Paramedic Program, and be paid directly to the training institute the final $250.00 will be reimbursed to the recipient upon successful completion of the program or as determined by the scholarship committee.  Deadline for submission is Friday, March 27, 2009.  If you, or someone you know, is interested in this program, please contact Chris Dell by calling 412-751-0919, or by e-mailing at: cdell@etaems.org
